The Community for the Advancement of Family Education (CAFE) is dedicated to empowering families and individuals through education, advocacy, and community support. Founded in 2005, CAFE has grown from a small initiative into a vital organization offering bilingual resources, scholarships, family support programs, and cultural events. In 2024, CAFE expanded its mission as a 501(c)4 organization to advocate for systemic changes that benefit our community.
Over the years, we’ve provided scholarships to over 100 students, managed programs for youth and families, and hosted events like our annual gala and Día de los Muertos celebration. As we continue to grow, we need a larger space to meet the increasing demand for our services.

A new Multicultural and Multi-Service Community Center is an action item in the Our Valley Our Future Action Plan after being identified as a key need in our community. This aligns with CAFÉ's mission to serve the community by addressing a growing demand for services. The center will provide dedicated space for cultural events, educational programs, and essential services. Additionally, CAFE's need for new office space is part of the multiservice aspect of the center, ensuring that staff and resources are accessible to support the community effectively.

A new, larger facility will enable us to:
Offer more programs and workshops in areas like education, mental health, and financial literacy.
Provide dedicated spaces for youth activities, tutoring, and cultural events.
Host more community organizations under one roof for easier access to services.
Expand our reach to underserved populations, particularly the Hispanic and bilingual communities.
-
Our current space has limitations, including:
Insufficient room for events, classes, and workshops.
Lack of adequate private spaces for counseling and family services.
Limited parking and accessibility for the community.
These challenges prevent us from growing and fully meeting the needs of those we serve.
-
CAFÉ is committed to ensuring the sustainability of the new center by:
Fortifying partnerships with Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) that share our vision of fostering equity and access to essential services for multicultural communities.
Creating collaborative agreements that allow these organizations to operate within the center, offering their services to the community while contributing to the overall operating costs.
Generating diverse revenue streams, including program fees, grants, and rental income from partner organizations, to cover ongoing expenses.
-
With a larger location, we plan to:
Increase scholarship opportunities for students.
Host more cultural events, such as Día de los Muertos celebrations.
Expand services for mental health support and family counseling.
Provide more resources for youth, such as tutoring and recreational programs.
